What Audio Visual Production & Technical Support covers
Audio, lighting, LED and live video, designed and operated by the crew that owns the equipment. We are the technical department for our own events and we are hired as the technical department for other people's.
The specification we will ask you for
Four numbers tell us most of what a show needs: total LED area and pixel pitch, how many wireless microphone channels including spares, whether power runs in parallel or on standby, and who owns the equipment.
Ask any three suppliers for those four numbers in writing. The differences between quotations usually live there rather than in the total.
Streaming, which is an audio problem
Remote viewers forgive a soft picture and leave when the sound is bad, so the stream takes a feed from the sound desk, never from a camera. It is a cable and a matrix output and it is the largest single quality difference in a hybrid event.
For the connection: a dedicated line ordered two weeks ahead, plus a bonded cellular backup that fails over automatically. Uplink, not download speed, is what matters, and hotel networks in Dhaka are provisioned for guests downloading.
The recording you can actually use
A platform recording is compressed and usually single camera. We record the clean feed locally, in parallel, at full quality, because that is the material your recap film comes from.
Spares
Every quotation names the spares: microphone channels, a spare projector lamp where relevant, cable, and a second encoder. A show with no spares is cheaper right up until it is not.
