Video Editor and Colourist
Cut corporate documentaries and brand films, and grade them. One shoot, many deliverables, all from the same footage.
The full posting
You will cut corporate documentaries, brand films and the social edits that come out of the same shoot, and you will grade them. Most of our film work is one shoot producing a long form piece plus six to ten shorter cuts, so the job is as much about structure and reuse as it is about the timeline.
Reporting to the Head of Film. You will work alongside a DOP, a motion designer and a producer, in an edit suite with a calibrated monitor.
What you will actually be doing
- Cutting twelve to fifteen minute corporate documentaries from three day shoots, and finding the story in interview footage that was not scripted
- Producing the derivative cuts: a three minute web version, vertical social edits, and a title sequence, from the same source
- Grading to a consistent house look, and matching between cameras
- Subtitling in Bangla and English, including burned in versions for social
- Keeping the project organised well enough that someone else can open it in two years and find the sequence
Your first ninety days
You will start by grading and finishing films that are already cut, so you learn the house look before you own a cut. By month two you will cut your first long form piece. By month three you will be running your own projects from rush review to delivery.
What we are looking for
Three or more years cutting long form corporate or documentary work. You can show us a piece over ten minutes long that holds attention, and you can explain a structural decision you made in it.
Grading in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere with Lumetri, to a repeatable look rather than a preset. If you have worked with LUTs across mixed camera bodies, say so.
What will make this job good or bad for you
Corporate film has real constraints: a legal review, a chairman who has an opinion, and a name that has to be in the credit list. If those constraints frustrate you, this will be a difficult job. If you find satisfaction in making something good inside them, it is a very good one.
The offer
BDT 55,000 to 85,000 a month, plus overtime for delivery crunches, which we try to avoid and do not always manage. Six day working week, Saturday to Thursday.
To apply, send a reel or, better, one full length piece you cut, with a note on what you would change about it now.
Questions before you apply?
Ask them before writing an application. We would rather answer a question about the role than read a cover letter that was guessing.
